Order of Worship

Pastor Bruce provides some instructions for Online Worship

We Gather to Worship Our God

Song of  Preparation and Gathering: Psalm 23

Pastor Bruce welcomes us to worship and God’s Greeting

Call to worship: 1 John 3:1-2
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And
that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear
friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we
know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

Song of Praise:  How Firm a Foundation

Our New Life in Christ

Pastor Bruce leads us in prayer

Prayer of Confession and Prayers of the People

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me
beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Song of Thanksgiving:  He Will Hold Me Fast

We Hear God’s Word

Scripture: Psalm 22:1, 2; Matthew 27:45-49

Message: Love’s Last Words – the Word of Abandonment and Selah (Just As I Am)

We Go Out in Faith

Pastor Bruce leads us in our shared Testimony of Faith and gives us God’s Blessing

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
      creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
      He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      was crucified, died, and was buried;
      he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
      He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the holy catholic church,
      the communion of saints,
      the forgiveness of sins,
      the resurrection of the body,
      and the life everlasting. Amen.

God’s Blessing to His People

Closing Song: O Praise the Name
